College Representative: Blackburn College will be here Tuesday, November 21st during AP.                 


Elks National Foundation: The “Most Valuable Student Scholarship” is for any high school senior that is a U.S. citizen.  These awards are given to students that are at or near the top of their class; active in school and community activities; are recognized by their peers as leaders; and need financial assistance to attend college.  These online scholarships are due before or on November 27, 2017.  To submit the application visit: Click on the 2018 MVS application link and enter your email address to register.  


AXA Achievement Scholarships- AXA Advisors of Springfield will award one time scholarships of $2,500, $10,000, or $25,000 to qualified high school seniors who have demonstrated ambition and drive, determination to set and reach goals, and the ability to succeed in college. Applications are available at and are due December 15th, 2017.


Eastern Illini Electric Cooperative- EIEC has announced that ten scholarships, of $2,000 each, will be awarded in 2018 through the Thomas H. Moore IllinoisElectric Cooperatives (IEC) Memorial Scholarship Program. Five scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors who are the sons or daughters of an Illinois electric cooperative member receiving service from the cooperative. Applications are available at and are due December 31st, 2017.


National Wild Turkey Federation- The NWTF is again offering the Dr. James Earl Kennamer Academic Scholarship to a graduating senior. Applicants must be a current member of the NWTF. Applications are available in the Core and are due January 1st, 2018.


CBAI Foundation for Community Banking: The CBAI Foundation is again offering numerous scholarships to those students who best capture the idea of the importance of community banking. Applications are available to all seniors in the Core and are due January 25th, 2018.



FFA students, sign up and start bringing items for our thanksgiving food drive.

Any student Council members wishing to attend the KDASC Fall Retreat please see Mrs. Holmes no later than end of school day TODAY.


Seniors:  This is your chance to read the morning announcements!  If this is something that you have always wanted to do, well now is your chance!  Stop by the office, put your name in for a drawing that will be held every Thursday.  If your name is drawn out and you have a clean slate with no tardies, cell phone or and other disciplinary issues for that week, you will be eligible to read announcements on Friday mornings.  Your name will then go back into the drawing so you have a chance to read them more than 1 time during the year.  The first drawing will be on Thursday, Nov. 30th after Thanksgiving break!

The Science Olympiad meeting scheduled for today has been rescheduled to Friday, Dec 1 at lunch or after school @ 3:15 pm. Choose which time is convenient for you.


One night. Two communities. One fight. Our 9th Annual Coaches vs. Cancer event will take place on Monday, December 11, 2017 - 6 pm at Tuscola High School during the TCHS Girls' Basketball Games (JV at 6 pm, Varsity to follow) against Central A&M. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society. T-shirt, baseball tee (3/4 sleeve), & crewneck sweatshirt orders must be placed by noon on Friday, December 1, 2017. Order forms can be picked up and dropped off in the HS office.You will be contacted when orders are ready. You can also pick up your order at the 9th Annual Coaches vs. Cancer event on Monday, December 11. What to expect: $1 half court shots, special halftime performance during the Varsity game with Tuscola Warriorettes & friends & donations will be accepted throughout the evening. For every 3-point shot made during the Varsity game (both Tuscola and Central A&M), First Federal Bank of Tuscola will donate $10 to the American Cancer Society (up to $100)! Thanks to Dale Boyer and First Federal Bank of Tuscola for their support of our 9th Annual Coaches vs. Cancer event. Auditions for the spring musical, The Sound of Music, will be Thursday, December 7th after school in the choir room. If you plan on auditioning, we suggest you attend the audition workshop on Tuesday, December 5th after school to learn the music and get other important audition material. Please stop by and see Mrs. Steffens if you have additional questions. Auditions are open to all TCHS students and new faces are welcome.
