Scholarships:  

 

Tuscola PowWows Scholarship: Tuscola PowWows will be presenting 2 one-year non-renewable scholarships to one male and one female who have participated in athletics during high school at TCHS. Applicants must be seniors with a parent, grandparent, or legal guardian who are a PowWows member as of December 31st of the current school year. Applications are in the Core and are due TODAY

 

FCCLA Scholarship: All senior members of the Tuscola Chapter of FCCLA who are planning to attend an accredited four-year university, or a two-year community college, or a trade/vocational school are invited to apply. Applications are in the Core and are due April 19th, 2019.

 

Georgine McDonald Trust Scholarship: This local scholarship is for Tuscola graduates who must have a 2.5 GPA and be entering the field of fine or liberal arts, medicine, law, or agriculture. Applications are available in the Core and are due April 19th, 2019.

Cletcher-Wessale Scholarship: This local scholarship is for Tuscola graduates who must be pursuing a college graduate school or medical school education in the area of medicine, including training as a physician, or within a related healthcare field. Applications are available in the Core and are due April 19th, 2019.

 

Tuscola Moose Family Center: The Tuscola Women of the Moose will be offering 2 scholarships this year in the amount of $500 each. Applicants must be seniors with a parent, grandparent, or legal guardian who is a Lodge 729 or Chapter 1011 member. Applications are available in the Core and are due April 19th, 2019.

 

Jennifer Sinclair Arnold Smith Memorial Scholarship- This scholarship is for $750 and is given to a student attending Parkland College. It is based on financial need and 'living legendary." Apps are available in the Core and are due April 22nd, 2019

 

Douglas County Republican Party Central Committee: The Republican Party Central Committee will be presenting a $500 scholarship to a graduating senior in Douglas County. Applications are available in the Core and are due April 22nd, 2019.

 

All-Pro HVAC and Plumbing Scholarship: This scholarship is for students who are pursuing higher education in any type of trade, engineering, architecture, project management, surveying, or construction. Applications are available in the Core and are due April 22nd, 2019.

 

Douglas County Bar Association: The Douglas County Bar Association will be presenting a $500 scholarship to a Douglas County senior who has financial need and is of high character. Applications are available in the Core and are due April 22nd, 2019.

Tuscola Rotary Club Scholarship: This annual scholarship is available to Tuscola seniors and awarded in the amount of $2,000. Applications are available in the Core and are due

April 25th, 2019

 

National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors: The NAIFA of East Central Illinois is offering two $500 scholarships called the Paul Brumaghim Memorial Scholarships. Applicants must be planning to major in Insurance, Finance, Business, or some other field related to the financial services. Applications are available in the core and are due April 30th, 2019.



Tuscola Education Association: The Tuscola Education Association will again be awarding scholarships to deserving TCHS seniors. Applicants who are eligible would be those who plan to major in education or those who show high potential, dependability, citizenship, and/or need. Applications are available in the Core and are due April 30th, 2019.

 

Tuscola Masonic Lodge: This local scholarship is available to seniors in the top 40% of class rank. Applications are available in the Core and are due May 1st, 2018.

 

Harriett Jane Bell Scholarship: Applications are now available for the Harriett Jane Bell Scholarship. Applicants must be Tuscola seniors pursuing a degree in an Ag related field. Applications are available in the Core and are due May 1st, 2019.

 

Be Brave: The Be Brave for Petey Organization is again offering scholarships to graduating seniors in the area. Applicants are asked to write about an incident where they have resisted the temptation to use substances or about a time that they've helped a friend who is struggling with substance abuse. Applications are available in the Core and are due May 6th, 2019.

 

Arcola Foundation Gwen Marie Boyd Memorial Fund Scholarship: This scholarship is for area seniors and is based on financial need. Applications are available in the Core and are due

June 1st, 2019.

Jake from Herff-Jones will be here at the HS TODAY at 11:30 am to deliver senior announcements if you ordered from them.  If there is a balance due, payment must be made at the time of pickup.

 

Any junior girl interested in Girls State, please see Ms. Holmes  by TODAY.

 

Sophomores: Remember to bring your $25 class donation for a chance to win a

$50 Amazon gift card! Money must be brought in to the office or dropped off

a TNB by TODAY.

 

Prom Date Request forms are due TODAY to Mrs. Fowler.

 

Prom court pictures at 10:30 TODAY.

 

Our new cross country coach will be here on Thursday at 3:00 just prior to track practice that day. Anyone interested in competing on next year's cross country team please come to meet Coach Rosenbaum at that time.

 

Any student interested in running for a class office must complete the form found in the office. All class officers MUST be a member of Student Council. Along with the application and petition, students will create a poster to hang for students to see. Applications are due by April 17. Posters are due by April 24. Please turn into the office by the end of school the day listed. Any questions see Ms. Holmes.

 

All prom money is due by April 18th.

 

If you are a senior and would like to walk in at prom coronation, there is a sign up in the office.  This is for seniors only. Please sign up by noon on April 26.

 

HS Cheer Tryouts will be held May 6th (in EP gym) and May 7th and  May 8th in the high school gym,  6:30-8:30.  There will be a informational meeting  April 29th at 12:05 in the Study Hall.

TCHS Alumni Scholarship: This annual scholarship is for seniors graduating from Tuscola whose sibling, parent, or grandparent is also a graduate of TCHS. Applications are available in the Core and are due April 13th, 2019. In addition to this scholarship, another "Special" Alumni Scholarship of $1000 will be presented to a 2019 senior this year who is going into a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) related field. These special applications are available in the Core and are due April 13th, 2019.

 

Sarah Bush Lincoln Scholarships: The Sarah Bush Lincoln Health System Guild Scholarship Committee will be giving out 3 scholarships (Guild Scholarship, Dr. C.D. Swickard Scholarship, and Vasudeo Shripad Joag Scholarship) to students pursuing a career in a health related field. Applications are available in the Core and are due April 15th, 2019.
