Scholarships:

 

CBAI Foundation for Community Banking: The CBAI Foundation is again offering numerous scholarships to those students who best capture the idea of the importance of community banking. Applications are available to all seniors in the Core and are due January 25th, 2018.

 

America's Farmers Grow Ag Leaders Scholarship- This scholarship, sponsored by the Monsanto Fund, is available to seniors pursuing an ag related field. Applications are available at ffa.org/scholarships and and are due February 1st, 2018.

 

Tuscola Women's Club GFWC Scholarships: The Illinois Federation of Women's Clubs will again be offering numerous scholarships. Students are eligible if pursuing a career in areas such as Art,Political Science, Fire and Police, Emergency Preparedness, Safety and Crime Prevention, Vocational, Drama, or Music. Applications are available in the Core and are due February 15th.

 

Joe and Sue Summerville Ag Scholarship: This $1,500 scholarship will be given to a senior in Douglas County who plans to pursue an ag related field of study. The scholarship is in memory of Lois and Myron Riddle of Tuscola. Applications are available in the Core and are due February 23rd, 2018.

 

Douglas County Pheasants Forever Scholarship: The Douglas County Pheasants Forever is again offering the Tom Innes Memorial Scholarship to a child, niece, nephew, or grandchild of a Pheasants Forever member. Applications are available in the Core and are due February 28th, 2018.



Farm Credit Illinois- Thirty $2,000 scholarships will be given to graduating seniors planning to pursue an agricutural related degree. Applications are available online at http://farmcreditil.com/resources/community/scholarships/Pages/default.aspx and are due February 28, 2018.

 

Illinois Odd Fellow-Rebekah Scholarship- Any senior with a 2.0 GPA or better is invited to apply for this scholarship which is awarded based on financial need. Applications are available online at http://www.ioof-il.org and are due March 1st, 2018.

 

Lloyd and Selma Sweeney Scholarship: Seniors in Coles or Douglas County who are pursuing degrees in either Ag or Healthcare related fields are eligible for this new $5,000 scholarship. Applications are available in the Core and are due March 1st, 2018.

 

National Defense Transportation Association (NDTA) Scholarship- The NDTA scholarships are awarded in the amounts ranging from $2,500-$4000. Priority is given to students majoring in Business, Transportation Logistics, or Physical Distribution related programs. Applications are available in the Core and are due March 1st, 2018.

 

Illinois Elks Association Scholarship: The Illinois Elks will be offering scholarships to seniors majoring in Physical or Occupational Therapy as well as scholarships to seniors going into Physical or Occupational Therapy Assistant programs. Applications are available at illinoiselksccc.org and are due March 9th, 2018.

 

Georgine McDonald Trust Scholarship: This local scholarship is for Tuscola graduates who must have a 2.5 GPA and be entering the field of fine or liberal arts, medicine, law, or agriculture. This scholarship will repeat for four years! Applications are available in the Core and are due

April 13th, 2018.

 

Cletcher-Wessale Scholarship: This local scholarship is for Tuscola graduates who must be pursuing a college graduate school or medical school education in the area of medicine, including training as a physician, or within a related healthcare field. Applications are available in the Core and are due April 20th, 2018.








Announcements:

 

Having an open campus at lunch is a privilege.  Please remember you are to return to the building immediately upon coming back from lunch.  Do not remain in your vehicles during the lunch period.  You should be safely traveling from your destination and then returning immediately to the building.

 

Attention all art club members, t shirts are now on sale till the end of January. If you are interested please turn in your money and fill out the form in the office. T shirts are $20

Anyone wishing to compete on the track and field teams... Winter workouts start this week.  Boys runners and all throwers will practice on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.  Girls runners will practice on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

 

There will be a Science Olympiad Team meeting TODAY at lunch.  If you cannot attend, please see Mrs Linker before or after school to pick up your packet of materials and forms.

 

FCCLA TShirt Order and Money due to Mrs. Harriss by Wednesday, January 24th.

 

Needing to sell your old homecoming or prom dress or wanting to purchase a dress? Come visit Store A1100(former Aeropostale Store).  Dress drop off dates/hours are Jan.22-24 from 5 to 7pm and dress sale dates to purchase dresses Jan. 26-28.  There is a flyer located outside of Mr. Bozarth’s office with detailed information.
